A unique look at some of the equipment once belonging to Harry Shafran and housed in his great gym. Much of what is shown here was previously owned by Warren Lincoln Travis. The whereabouts of this equipment is currently unknown.

Bob Zuver liked to do everything up BIG at his gym... he had the world's biggest squat rack (over 10 feet tall), the world's longest dipping station (12 feet long), dumbbells up to 320 pounds, the World's biggest rope climb, the world's biggest bench press (which weighed 650 pounds) and even a fire hose for a drinking fountain.
Shown here is a closer look at Zuver's unique barbell plates, which were, unsurprisingly, also BIG... as you can see, they were in 50-pound, 100-pound, 150-pound and 200-pound denominations.

York was always the standard as far as quality Olympic barbell sets... but Muscletown was a long way for some folks to travel. Out on the West coast, a lot of people got their start with Paramount barbells and plates.

Isometrics were all the rage in the 60s although you don't hear much about them these days. Here's a special rack made by The York Barbell Company created just for performing Isometrics (model W.W.) This is the very same type of rack that Bruce Lee trained on. I've actually got one out in my gym which I still train on -- still as good as ever.
(Note: We do NOT have Isometric Power Racks for sale or know where you can find one.)
