The great American Weightlifter Bill Good circa 1934. The Reamstown, Pennsylvania native was a seven-time National weightlifting Champion (1930-1935, 1937) and competed in the 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games. He was also the owner and namesake of The Good Dumbbell which he famously hip lifted on many occasions.

If a barbell wasn't avilable, the great weightlifting champion Art Levan lifted people instead. Looks like it worked, Levan was the first american to put double bodyweight overhead, a feat he accomplished back in 1932.

| Tony Terlazzo was one of America's greatest Olympic weight lifters. Lifting for the York Barbell Club, Terlazzo was a Gold medal winner in the 60 kg class at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, set seven world records, won two world championshios and achieved an unprecedented 13 Senior National weightlifting titles. Dick Bachtell - Weightlifting ChampionThe great weightlifting Champion Dick Bachtell as he appeared on the cover of the January, 1936 issue of Strength and Health Magazine.
Dick Bachtell was a seven-time National Champion (1929-1931, 1934-1935, 1937, and 1943) and competed in the 1932 Olympic games in Los Angeles, Claifornia.
For his last National Title, he totaled 630 pounds in the 60-Kg class.
In addition to his Olympic Weightlifting exploits, Dick Bachtell could also one-arm snatch 154 pounds, squat 350-pounds, deadlift 425-pounds, one-arm press 92-pounds, pullover 100-pounds, swing 137-pounds and bent-press 180-pounds.
