If there's one 'strongman' that everyone should try to emulate it would be Bob Peoples. The Johnson City, Tennessee native
built his strength to world record levels training by himself in his basement with only the most basic
of equipment - no excuses there.
Peoples began training at a very young
age after reading Alan Calvert's
STRENGTH Magazine and
Farmer Burns' well-known
course. As time passed, his totals increased in many different lifts but he found that was especially
proficient in the deadlift, something which he would eventually become known for. In fact, he was deadlifting
700+ pounds while weighing only around 180 lbs himself - and that was way back in the 1940s. Find out more about Bob Peoples
and his training methods in the slide show above and by clicking
here and here.
Train hard,

John Wood
