If you have ever wanted to know who tore the most decks of cards at once or which
great strength athletes could perform one-arm chins, have I ever got a book for you...
Back in 1970, strength historian David P. Willoughby finally finished his
greatest work, a compendium of all the greatest strength feats ever recorded. While
many "standard" lifts such as the snatch and clean & jerk are included, so are some of
the more unusual: things like horse shoe bending, barrel lifting, one-finger lifts, log chopping,
jaw strength, weight supporting and a whole lot more.

This "history of strength" goes back even to the classical age, providing feats and performances
even for the great strength athletes of antiquity. All in all, this is a fascinating
journey back through time.
Scroll down this page if you want to see a bit more of what it
covered in its 600+(!) pages. There are also an untold number of rare pictures and
engravings of the strength individuals who have ever lived.
We have recently come across several used copies of this book and will make them available for
as long as they last. Most of them do have the dust jacket intact and they are in excellent
condition, especially considering the fact that they are nearly 40 years old. Also, please
do bear in mind that for the copies that we have, there will be some slight wear and
tear. The dust jackets may be a bit frayed, but otherwise, each book is in very good
condition and the information is top-notch.
Regardless, no matter where
your interest in strength lies, this is a book that simply must be in your personal library.
Again, we have a limited number of these strength treasures and once they are gone, they are gone for good.
Train hard,

John Wood
