Vintage Indian Clubs in Action

A hundred years ago school kids began the day with various forms of calisthenics and one of the most popular exercises was Indian club swinging. The clubs provided a quick and convenient means of strengthening the arms and shoulders which also built better posture -- thus creating a much more efficient learning environment.

Check out this vintage clip from 1904 (you just know that kid in the middle is a wise guy.)
