Sailor Jim White: The Human Link

Here’s a rare one that you probably haven’t seen before: “Sailor” Jim White, Champion Strong Man of The Navy, performs “The Human Link” feat in front of a crowd in Boston, circa 1917. Three lads per side couldn’t budge the brawny fireman. This performance was done to impress prospective Navy recruits.

The Derrick Brothers ~ The Strong Men From Belgium

Here’s a couple of strong men you’ve never heard of: The Derrick Brothers, who came all the way from Brussels, Belgium to perform this feat twice a day at the Nebraska State Fair in 1917. The Derricks also performed with the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus.
