The Illustrated History of Physical Culture: Vol. 1
We just managed to get our hands on a few extra copies of one of the best — and most rare — Iron Game books ever written: The Illustrated History of Physical Culture by Alan Radley.
Published back in 2000, Radley does a masterful job of taking us back through the earliest history of physical training (Babylonia, Greece, Egypt, etc.) on through the pioneers of physical culture (MacFadden, Desbonnet, Attila), the dawn of the musical hall strongmen (Inch, Sandow, Strongfort), early publishing giants (Liederman, Atlas, Calvert) and into the modern world (Park, Reeves, Grimek, Pearl).
